The mayor is asking everyone to get off the streets, stay inside, and has declared a winter weather state of emergency for tomorrow. Alternate side parking rules are suspended, but guess what! Payment at parking meters will remain in effect. This means whoever did not find parking in an area free of meters, and had to park in a metered area overnight, will have to tread through as much as 12 inches of snow to feed their meters throughout the day. Does this make sense? I think it does only if you look at it from a city revenue perspective. Otherwise it's rather contradictory.
